"Ratings, Reviews & Interviews Online" is a collection of all my movie-related ratings, reviews, interviews and writings. A life-long film buff and natural born critic, I have been recording my movie ratings (evaluations) since 1987. From September 1988 to January 1990, I was the co-host of “Film Close-Ups,” a weekly 30-minute program on KALX-FM, the U.C. Berkeley radio station. During my tenure on the show, I reviewed one to two movies a week and had the opportunity to interview several filmmakers. From December, 1989 to July, 1990, I wrote movie reviews for the arts section of The Daily Californian, U.C. Berkeley’s independent daily newspaper, serving the campus and community. From January 1990 to present, I have been involved on and off with “Movie Magazine International” (the successor to “Film Close-Ups")—for which I occasionally reviewed movies in 1991-92 and for which I have served as Webmaster since 1995.
I currently record my ratings in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and my movie reviews are in Microsoft Word format. When faced with the question of how to share my movie evaluations on-line with friends and family (and anyone else who might care or stumble upon my web pages), I have decided on the relatively low-tech solution of publishing my Excel and Word files directly on the web. Hence, below you will find links to my "Movie-Ratings" spreadsheet and to my movie review and interview Word files.
The Microsoft Excel spreadsheet linked below contains my ratings (evaluations) of over 1,500 filmsall the movies I've seen since I started recording my film ratings in 1987. The spreadsheet (which is virus free and contain no macros) also contains links to my movie reviews where appropriate.
